The Vortexbox Project has to be one of the coolest things I’ve come across in a while. A server based OS that can rip your CD’s and DVD’s, automatically download all the artwork and Metadata, and then serve said files up to other computers or streaming devices all through your home or mobile devices. There’s a few companies selling preconfigured servers to the public but they seem to be doing it with subpar parts. I think if you’re gonna have a media server then it should be a quality machine since you’re taking the time to put all your movies and music on it.
